It’s Men’s Mental Health Week. 💬🧠
June 9–16 is a time to recognize the unique mental health challenges men face—and to break down the barriers that prevent them from getting help.
For generations, men have been told to “tough it out” and hide their emotions. But behind that silence are real struggles—often masked by anger, isolation, or risk-taking.
The reality:
🔹 Men die by suicide 3x more often than women
🔹 75% of suicide deaths in Canada are men
🔹 Men are far less likely to seek support
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Let’s change the conversation around men’s mental health.
✔️ Check in with the men in your life
✔️ Normalize therapy and peer support
✔️ Challenge stigma and toxic masculinity
✔️ Share resources that make a difference
📲 Learn more at MensMentalHealthMonth.ca
🤝 If you need help, support is available:
• 9-8-8 – Suicide Crisis Helpline (24/7 call or text)
• 211 Men’s Helpline – Free, confidential support
• Healthy Minds Men’s Peer Group
• Membertou Men’s Society
• Buddy Up | MenTELL | Next Gen Men | SickNotWeak | Canadian Men’s Health Foundation
Let’s build a world where it’s safe for men to speak up, be seen, and be supported. 💙

📰 In the News! 📰
We’re thrilled to see the Nova Scotia Road Builders Association recognized in The Laker News for their extraordinary generosity and community spirit!
At their Annual General Meeting Gala, the NSRBA raised over $137K in support of our CMHA Colchester East Hants branch. In May we were honoured to accept this transformational gift—one that will directly support mental health programming in communities like East Hants.
💬 “This level of support goes far beyond financial assistance; it is a powerful affirmation of our mission and the work we are committed to doing every day.” – Susan Henderson, Executive Director
💚 Thank you again to the NS Road Builders Association!

Yesterday was an extraordinary day at CMHA CEH! 🎉
We received an amazing donation of $137,705.00 from the Nova Scotia Road Builders Association, who raised these funds during their Annual General Meeting Gala this past January.
This level of support goes far beyond financial assistance; it is a powerful affirmation of our mission and the work we are committed to doing every day. Thanks to this gift, we will expand programming in underserved rural communities like East Hants, helping more individuals understand that they don't have to struggle alone. Whether at home or at work, support is available - and we are here to walk with them on their mental health journey.
This is how we move people from surviving to thriving, rebuilding lives with confidence, stability , and hope.
Thank you Nova Scotia Road Builders Association, from the bottom of our hearts, for your commitment to building stronger roads - and stronger people! We are all the better for it!

🥣💚 Thank You for Supporting Bowls for Balance! 💚🥣
We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to support our Bowls for Balance fundraiser on May 8! Because of YOU, we raised an amazing $1,355 to support mental health programs and services at our CMHA branch.
Each handcrafted item served as a beautiful reminder of community, creativity, and care. A heartfelt thank you to Thrown Together Pottery and all the local artists who generously donated their work to make this event possible!
